Grayden Laing is an Ontario-based artist who started out as a portrait artist and has branched into landscape painting, figurative sculpture, animation and cinematography.
After apprenticing with Elgin County artist Sir Peter Robson and studying fine arts at York University, Grayden’s honed experience in sculpture and portraiture have motivated him to explore the expressive possibilities of new media. However, in addition to his more recent endeavours, Grayden continues to be active as a commissioned painter and sculptor. The nuances of the human form never cease to fascinate and amaze, and Grayden has a series of figurative paintings planned. Grayden is also very intrigued by the expressive potential of volatile weather patterns and their impact on human-crafted landscapes. As an artist, he finds nature’s sheer power both fascinating and terrifying.
